Who I Am
Hi, I’m Kylie.
I was born and raised on the west coast of the beautiful island of Newfoundland. I had a adventurous childhood, growing up in a small town and spending much of my time in an even smaller nearby community. The creativity and unique lifestyles of my two incredible Nans deeply influenced me. From a young age, I was drawn to all things creative and handmade, cherishing every moment spent learning new skills. My parents supported and encouraged me in countless ways—from letting me paint in the living room (despite the very real risk of changing the carpet’s color), to patiently watching endless self-choreographed dances with my sister or cousin, and ultimately standing by me when I made the bold decision to switch my university major in second year from Pharmacy to Fine Arts, where I went on to earn a BFA in Theatre with a focus on Costume Design..
Much of my career has been in arts administration but something always felt like it was missing. In recent years, I’ve reconnected with my love for painting, and more importantly, my need for it. With the unwavering support of my partner, family and friends, I am embracing my creativity on a larger scale.
Now, with a growing body of work and renewed confidence, I’m preparing for my first solo exhibit of paintings in November 2025.
This exhibit marks a meaningful step in becoming the truest version of myself, one that prioritizes creativity, adventure, and expression through art. Thank you for being here!
